Blogs are a personal website which can be used by the user to post ideas or anything they want to post. Blogs are like an online journal. They are limited to one persons set of views. Where as Wikis are a collection of many peoples opinions they are updated by anybody with access to it not one person owns it. Wikis can grow very fast since many people are constantly adding there knowledge to it at all times of the day. Where as a blog is owned by the one person so it is just there ideas and opinions and has to grow one post at a time from that person. Though publishing a blog or a wiki they are the same they are both very easy to start up. Just like anything else they still have to worry about the security issues from people trying to spam. Though for a blog it is the blogger who has to watch for it with a wiki it is everybody that uses it.
Blogs and Wikis both have there strengths and weaknesses neither is better than the other completely. They are both very useful in today's world.
